AB-730 Study Plan

AB-730 study plan for Microsoft AI Business Professional, Microsoft 365 Copilot, prompts, business content, and final review.

This plan prepares Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional (AB-730) as a beginner Microsoft 365 Copilot and business-AI exam. Keep your review at the right level: using AI tools responsibly for business work, not building AI systems.

Seven-day route

Day Focus What to do
Day 1 Scope and exam fit Read the root guide and Microsoft Learn page. Confirm this is business AI, not Azure AI engineering.
Day 2 Generative AI fundamentals Review prompts, context, hallucination, grounding, AI limits, and responsible use.
Day 3 Prompt and conversation management Practice prompts with goal, audience, context, constraints, examples, output format, and refinement.
Day 4 Drafting business content Practice emails, documents, presentations, summaries, and image/content creation with review.
Day 5 Business analysis Practice summarizing information, comparing options, analyzing business data, and documenting assumptions.
Day 6 Microsoft 365 workflows Map Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Researcher, and Analyst scenarios to business outcomes.
Day 7 Final review Use the cheat sheet, review weak scenarios, launch Microsoft’s exam sandbox, and recheck live AB-730 details.

If you only have 48 hours

  1. Read the cheat sheet and memorize the assessed areas.
  2. Drill prompt-choice scenarios and write the missing context for every weak prompt.
  3. Drill business-content scenarios and ask what must be verified before final use.
  4. Check Microsoft Learn for live exam status, language, duration, and practice assessment availability.

Readiness signals

  • You can improve a weak prompt without overcomplicating it.
  • You can explain why AI output must be checked before business use.
  • You can choose the Microsoft 365 workflow that fits an email, report, meeting, presentation, or spreadsheet scenario.
  • You can identify privacy, bias, hallucination, and accountability risks in ordinary business tasks.
  • You can distinguish AI Business Professional from Applied Skills and Azure AI engineering routes.
